We had a berry awesome day! Today we had our Pampered Princess program. Girls learned how to take care of their skin by applying cleanser, lip masks, moisturizers, and more. After their faces were clean, the fresh berries (younger group) created a finished look with lip gloss. The ready berries (older group) created finished looks that included perfectly matched foundation, mascara, lip gloss, etc. To top off the pampering, the girls made their own body scrub on site out of brown sugar, honey, vanilla extract, and olive oil. In addition to the skin care and pampering, both groups had a book review. They have different books and were given the assignment to read chapter one during orientation. These girls came prepared to discuss what they'd learned and shared the thoughts that were provoked in them. To honor one of our core values of goodwill and charity, each girl brought in multiple pantry items for the families at the #fedexfamilyhouse. Lastly, a Berry of the Month was selected from each group. A girl has to earn the most points in order to get this title and the reward that comes with it. They accumulate points by volunteering, bringing in more than the standard number of pantry items, participation, contribution to the book reviews, etc. Again, a berry awesome day and experience for both the girls and volunteers. Thanks to our guest host Stancey Johnson, a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant for excellent instructions. And the biggest thanks and appreciation to the volunteers.
